Police have arrested a 27 year old Lebanon man for his role in a Friday afternoon shooting of a 23 year old victim.

Francisco Mateo was arrested by Lebanon police for his involvement in the shooting of a 23 year old Lebanon man who was discovered in a residence on the 400 block of N. 9th Street on Friday shortly before 5pm.

The victim has been released from the medical facility following treatment for gunshot wounds.

Mateo faces charges of Criminal Attempt to Commit Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. According to a release, he has been incarcerated at Lebanon County Correctional Facility unable to meet the $1,000,000 bail set by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Verna.

Police were first dispatched to the area of the 600 block of N. 9th Street around 4:15pm regarding a verbal confrontation between two groups. The groups dispersed upon arrival of the police, but a second call for a disturbance was made at 4:47pm to the same area. As officers were responding, they discovered another related disturbance on the 400 block of N. 9th Street involving the same two groups of people.

Police say the two groups are familiar with each other and the suspect is familiar with the victim. According to the original release, this was not a random shooting incident and the 23 year old male is believed to have been the intended victim.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lebanon City Police at (717) 272-2054 or the Crime Stoppers tipline at (717) 270-9800.
