Consider converting the main Lebanon business street, Cumberland, to a two-way street from 12th Street to 5th Avenue.
This is not a new idea; Dave Etter proposed this about 25 years ago. It’s worth a revisit in light of what is happening in nearby successful downtown business districts such as Lititz and Hershey.
Easier access to downtown Lebanon businesses is needed as well as easier in town navigation for visitors. Right now, Walnut Street is under construction.

I’m wondering if the city could take a note from the Lehigh Valley area, which has seen its own come-back in the last 10-15 years.
This may make sense if there were unlimited shops, restaurants along the route but that is not the case. There is enough traffic on Cumberland St going one way and wouldn’t it compound the problem with traffic going two ways. I don’t think restaurants closings etc are related to one way or two way traffic.
It’s a good idea – hope fully will slow down the travel thru town, s people can experience the architecture…. and the lovely summer flower baskets and pots.
What they need are real stores in the area restaurants in the area and parking
