If you know a kid who’s got serious stage potential, take note.

Gretna Theatre is looking for local child actors to star in its upcoming production of the Oliver! musical. 11 parts are up for consideration including the title role. Applicants should be between 6-12 years old and Oliver himself should be 9-11 years.

The musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist tells the story of the orphan Oliver as he navigates street life in Victorian London. The young boy falls in with a group of pickpockets after escaping the horrible workhouse in which he was raised from birth. The play premiered in 1960 and found great success on Broadway, and was eventually turned into a 1968 film.

Auditions will be held by appointment in early May, before the first rehearsal on July 2nd. The show will be held at the Mt. Gretna Playhouse on July 18-21.
