The Palmyra Area High School’s Envirothon team placed 9th at last week’s state competition.

Teams from sixty-six counties competed in the state competition, which was held May 21 and 22 at Windber Recreation Park on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown.

The competition was made up of a series of stations at which teams competed and then accumulated points.

Palmyra had the highest score at the competition’s Soil/Land use station with 90 points.

Carmichaels Area High School, located in Greene County took home first place and will represent Pennsylvania at the NCF-Envirothon international competition, which will be held July 28-August 2 at North Carolina State University, Raleigh.
