Over summer vacation, it can be hard to get kids out of the house to do something educational and fun.

Next week the City of Lebanon is hosting a Nature Camp so kids can enjoy themselves while learning about the natural world.

The City of Lebanon Nature Camp is being held at Stoever’s Dam Park’s Nature Barn (946 Miller Street) Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3 from 9:00am to noon.

Children aged six to 12 can attend the camp, which will focus on providing science education and learning through nature.

Lebanon City residents will be able to attend the camp at no cost and will be given signup priority, while others must pay $20.00 for each child participating in the camp.

To register, visit lebanonpa.org or contact Melissa Quinones at mquinones@lebanonpa.org or (717)228-4496. Make sure to sign up soon, because there are only 25 slots for the camp.

If you can’t commit to the full camp schedule, on Tuesday, July 2, a “Critters Beyond Your Backyard” program hosted by Jack Hubley will be held free to the public. The hour-long event will be held starting at 10:30am for a max of 100 people.

Emily Bixler was born and raised in Lebanon and now reports on local government. In her free time, she enjoys playing piano and going for hikes.
