The US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service is, along with several partners, creating a new Source Water Protection project for the Swatara Creek watershed.

The project will be put together as part of the National Water Quality Initiative, and citizens interested in the health and protection of their local water systems, public and private, are encouraged to attend a Public Stakeholder Meeting to offer input on the plan.

Desired outcomes of the meeting include the identification of areas of concern, education on water systems, developing a program of protection for at-risk areas, and a clarification of the priorities and outcomes of such a program.

The meeting will be held on Friday, July 12 at the Lebanon County Agriculture Center on 2120 Cornwall Road, next to the Lebanon Expo Center. It will run from 10:00am to 12:30am. To register and/or request accommodations, contact Michael Snyder via email or by calling (717) 376-3507 by July 10.
