The Mount Gretna Outdoor Art Show will draw big crowds to the area this weekend and with that, some road closures and temporary traffic patterns.

According to the South Londonderry Township Police Department, due to exhibitors being set up on Rt. 117 for the duration of the show, there will be no thru traffic from 6am on Friday morning until approximately 8pm on Sunday evening.

A detour will be set up to take drivers around Mount Gretna, utilizing Mine Road between Mount Wilson Road and Butler Road, as well as Old Mine Road between Butler Road and Route 117.

Traffic control personnel will be stationed along the detour to direct motorists during show hours.

The press release from the South Londonderry Police Department also reminds drivers that it is a violation to disregard signs indicating road closures, something officers will be enforcing over the weekend.

In a change from previous years, there will be no parking at Philhaven and no shuttle busses running. All parking will be at Soldier’s Field, located along Timber Road. The parking area can be accessed by taking Butler Road toward Rt. 117.

Vehicles coming from the west are asked to take either Mine Road or Route 322 to Butler Road and then Rt. 117 to the parking area. Those coming from the east can take Rt. 117 to the parking area.

Fair goers will be able to walk from their cars to the main gate on Route 117.
