You might be familiar with the Lebanon Community Health Center by its former name, the Lebanon Ridge Community Health Center, which had been located at 840 Norman Drive in North Cornwall Township. The new facility is more than double in size.
Operated by New Holland-based Welsh Mountain Health Centers, the 9,000 SF community health facility has been opened since November 2018, an early and prominent tenant of the Shoppes at the Bridges retail development.
The health center invited local politicians and civic leaders to attend a tour of the 920 Church Street facility, led by Welsh Mountain Health Centers CEO Jackie Concepcion.
A New York City native, Concepcion came to Central PA seeking “more green space and a slower pace,” according to an interview she did last year with Lancaster Newspapers. Concepcion’s oversees Welsh Mountains four offices, three of which are in Lancaster County.
Concepcion and other Welsh Mountain staff members presented to attendees on the organization’s impact on the community through its community health focus.
A major focus of the meeting was making the case for additional support of community health centers.
The Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers has lobbying goals with the state legislature, described here in detail (PDF), namely additional funding for community health centers like Welsh Mountain’s Lebanon facility.
Welsh Mountain Health Center currently serves nearly 9,000 patients in Lebanon.
Services offered at the Lebanon facility include a range of medical services, behavioral health treatment, family planning, supportive services, and dental integration. United Way of Lebanon County also provides funding to the facility for something they call the Mind, Body and Spirit program, which provides integrated physical and behavioral health treatments.
The Lebanon Community Health Center building is also home to Stauffer’s Drug Store, a Lancaster company now in its fifth generation of family ownership and management.
Lebanon Community Health Center is located at 920 Church Street in Lebanon. For more information, visit the facility or its website, or call 717-272-2700 anytime Monday – Thursday 8am-8pm or Friday 8am-5pm. (The facility is not open on the weekends.)
