Do you know of any local nonprofits that are making a difference in the community? Nominate them for the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Non-Profit of the Year Award.

The Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the annual award until this Friday, October 18.

A nonprofit is eligible if it is a 501(c) (3) organization within the Lebanon Valley, a member in good standing of the Chamber of Commerce, and has been in operation for five years or more.

Even organizations that have received the award in previous years can be nominated again. Employees are allowed to nominate their organizations.

To nominate a nonprofit, submit the nomination form (PDF) along with supporting documents to the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The form includes providing basic information about the nonprofit as well as answering various open-ended questions about it and its accomplishments. While not required, nominations can be supplemented with additional support like newspaper clippings and testimonials.

Finalists for the award will be announced mid-October.

The public will have the opportunity to vote on the award’s recipient at the Commerce’s Networking and Non-Profits event October 29 (free for Chamber of Commerce members and $10 for non-members). Finalists will be able to address the audience, explaining their organizations and their impacts, prior to the vote.

The winner will be chosen based on this vote and a selection committee’s decision. This winner will be announced at the Chamber’s annual Membership Breakfast and Awards December 11.
