Darrel Moyer, the Cleona man who took up Frank Weihrauch Jr’s Christmas lights tradition, has a favor to ask.

Will you be trick-or-treating in the Annville-Cleona area? Or want to give your kids a special Halloween experience before the main event? Moyer reached out to LebTown with hopes it’d help promote his Halloween Display, returning this year to his 117 W. Penn Ave. home in Cleona.

“I’m planning to hand candy out again this year but we haven’t had many Trick or Treaters stop by in the past,” said Moyer in an email to LebTown.
“I would say my display is a great in between stopping point between Maple Street in Cleona and Maple Street in Annville if anyone is traveling between Cleona and Annville to Trick or Treat.”
The display, which features approximately 1,000 lights, includes all the usual ghouls and spooks you’d expect from a Halloween display, but presented in a way designed to delight rather than terrify. (For that, head on over to Field of Screams in the Lancaster area.)
Moyer hopes to have more attendance on Halloween night specifically, but the display will be open all week from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (weather permitting).
Update 10/30: The Moyer display will last through Friday night, Nov. 1, corresponding to the rain date for countywide Trick-or-Treat.
