Effective immediately, Fredericksburg Community Health Center will affiliate with UPMC Pinnacle.

The practice will have a new name going forward, UPMC Primary Care Fredericksburg, and is already listed on the main UPMC website as a primary care provider.

The affiliation was announced Friday in a press release by UPMC Pinnacle. Both the Fredericksburg and Jonestown offices are expected to remain at the current locations with the same providers and staff.

PinnacleHealth Medical president Robert Nielsen, MD, touted the close ties Fredericksburg Community Health Center providers hold with the community. “Fredericksburg Community Health Center providers are valued members of the Lebanon-area community, providing personalized patient care with quality and integrity,” he said in a press release.

According to its website, the Fredericksburg Community Health Center dates to 1980, when it opened thanks to the “request and hard work” of the Northern Lebanon Community center. The center expanded to Jonestown with a second location in 1995.

“UPMC Pinnacle shares our focus on providing outstanding patient-centered care and our commitment to the community,” said Myron Miller, MD in a statement. “Our affiliation will provide additional value through advanced technology, increased comprehensive care for chronic and acute illnesses, access to UPMC’s world-class specialists, and access to health education and programs.”
