Update January 22: The opening has been pushed back to sometime in February.

West Lebanon Township will be ringing in the New Year with a brand new Rutter’s. In an email to LebTown, a spokesperson for the convenience shop confirmed the 1655 W. Cumberland Street store has set a firm opening date of Jan. 15, 2020.

The opening is somewhat delayed from original plans, as shortly after construction began in May, a spokesperson for the convenience chain told LebTown to anticipate a Fall 2019 opening.

The short wait may be a minor inconvenience to some. It could also prove to be potentially catastrophic for 2020 resolutions: Standard Rutter’s fare aside, customers over age 21 will be able to take a seat at one of Rutter’s gambling terminals, located in the shop’s previously reported “Video Gaming Room.”

The new West Lebanon Township Rutter’s will also feature a “29 degree beer cave,” a walk-in freezer that also sounds like a survival scenario.

Here’s what the video gaming room looks like at a Rutter’s store in York.

And a beer cave at the Mountville location.

Rutter’s secured the liquor license for this store from Millcreek Township last year. According to Marketing Manager Alison Hummel, the new Rutter’s will carry a “vast selection” of domestic, imported, premium, and craft beers, as well as ciders.

Local and national wines will also be stocked in-store, as well as alcohol-infused “adult slushies.”

The convenience store and gas station will be Rutter’s 75th location, the 74th having opened in early 2018 on Route 422 in South Annville Township.

The new Lebanon County location, announced mere months after opening the first, sits on a 6.4 acre swath of land previously occupied by Agway. Hummel told LebTown the West Cumberland Rutter’s will have 14 gas and diesel pumps and five high-speed truck diesel fueling lanes.

Hummel said the store is looking to hire 50 workers in the coming months. Interested job-seekers should apply online here.
