A robbery attempt at S&H Food and Fuel Mart today was foiled by an attendant who defended the store with nothing more than a wooden stick.

Police are now seeking information about the pictured vehicle, a light green Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible that was seen traveling north from the scene on N. Lincoln Ave.

The incident took place just before 9:00 a.m. Friday morning, Dec. 13, at the 1 E. Cumberland Street gas station. Police were dispatched at approximately 9:25 a.m.

According to Lebanon City Police, two individuals–one described as a black male about 5’6″ and a second described as a black male about 6’–entered the store wearing black hooded jackets and flashed a handgun while telling the clerk to give them cash from the register. The clerk, apparently unfazed, instead began to hit the assailants with a wooden stick. No money was handed over and the suspects were said to have fled at that point.

Police are requesting the public’s help with information regarding the individuals or the Eclipse. The Lebanon City Police can be reached at 717-272-2054 or Crime Stoppers at 717-270-9800.
