This year adds a twist to the tradition: a disco ball, designed and constructed by E&E Metal Fabrication, will be attached to the giant bologna, provided by Weaver’s Bologna and produced at the company’s North Lebanon Township plant.

The bologna and disco ball will be displayed for the public starting at 3 p.m on Dec. 31.

At 7 p.m. that night, the New Year’s festivities will begin. Mayor Sherry Capello’s press release encourages families with children to attend.

D.J. Rich will perform starting at 10 p.m. leading up to the bologna’s midnight drop.

The Bologna Ranger mascot will also be in attendance, as well as the Salvation Army providing hot drinks to the crowd.

Following the drop, the bologna will be donated to Lebanon Rescue Mission and the Agape Shelter.

This year’s bologna drop is sponsored by Godshall’s Quality Meats, Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, the City of Lebanon, and Downtown Lebanon Main Street.

Interested in going to the Bologna Drop? No parking will be available on Eighth and Walton Streets starting at noon. Also starting at noon, Eighth St. will be closed from Cumberland to Chestnut, and Walton St. will be closed from Gannon to Liberty.
