This past Wednesday, players from the Hershey Bears visited Lebanon Middle School along with members of Penn State PRO Wellness to celebrate wellness efforts with local students.

The visit was part of Penn State PRO Wellness’ Healthy Champions initiative, a program that provides schools with free educational materials designed to help inform making healthy choices.

The Hershey Bears have partnered with Penn State PRO Wellness for the past seven years, according to Penn State PRO Wellness events specialist Amy Rhine. The floor hockey event is an annual tradition that rotates through participating schools. Before the main event—a scrimmage of two student teams, coached by the Bears players—players discuss their own tips for nutrition and physical conditioning.

Although Lebanon Middle School is one of the closer schools geographically to Penn State Hershey, more than 630 schools across the state are participating in the Healthy Champions program this academic year.
