He fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He served under Patton. He’s a member of the Greatest Generation. And on Saturday, he turns 100.

On the occasion of his 100th birthday on April 11, Lebanon resident Dale Chapman will be honored with a special proclamation from City of Lebanon Mayor Sherry Capello that will be delivered to the Community Homes of Lebanon County Hill Terrace building where Chapman resides.

“Dale Chapman is a special and distinguished citizen of the City of Lebanon,” said Mayor Capello in a news release. “Under other circumstances we would have a public celebration, but we must all be sensitive to the Stay at Home guidelines that are in place now.”

Mayor Sherry Capello poses with the proclamation and a special “happy birthday” sign for WWII veteran Dale Chapman.

“We are proud to have Dale Chapman in our Community Homes resident community,” said Community Homes CEO Charlie Rush in the release. “We thank Mayor Capello and the City for this well-deserved recognition of this most distinguished resident.”

Hill Terrace is one of a half-dozen affordable senior-living apartment buildings managed by the non-profit Community Homes.

Let’s give it up for Dale. Happy birthday from all of us at LebTown!
