Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident – On April 27, 2020 at 3:09 p.m., this crash occurred on Mt. Zion Rd. approximately 200 feet north of its intersection with Short Rd. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Operator 1, a 21 year old Bethel Twp. man, was traveling north negotiating a left curve when it lost control, veered off the roadway and impacted shrubbery and fencing. Unit 1 came to final rest under the wire fencing off the west shoulder of the roadway facing east. Operator 1 fled the scene and was contacted approximately one mile north of the crash site. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by D. E. Richard’s Towing. There were no injuries in the crash. Operator 1 was cited with numerous summary violations.

Underage Drinking – Members from PSP Jonestown are investigating an underage drinking incident that occurred at South Pine Grove St on April 21, 2020. The victim was a 15 year old Fredericksburg male. The investigation is ongoing.

Pedestrian Struck – This crash occurred on April 27, 2020 at 3:33 p.m. as Unit 1, a pedestrian, a 47 year old Temple woman, was attempting to cross from the west bound travel lane to the east bound travel lane, located near SR22 just west of Blue Mountain Rd., without utilizing a crosswalk. Unit 2, a 2012 Toyota Yaris, driven by Operator 1, a 56 year old Lebanon man, was pulling out of Bell and Evans traffic way. Unit 1 was subsequently struck by Unit 2. Unit 1 was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital via Penn State Life Lion with suspected minor injuries. Unit 1 was charged with Pedestrians Crossing At Other Than Crosswalks.

Harassment – On April 24, 2020 at 6:01 p.m., this incident occurred when the juvenile Suspect and the Victim, his father, a 40 year old Fredericksburg man, got into a verbal altercation. The verbal altercation escalated when the juvenile Suspect pushed the Victim. The juvenile Suspect subsequently left the residence on the 100 block of North Mechanic St.

Vehicle Accident – This crash occurred on April 29, 2020 at 5:26 a.m. as Unit 1, a 2011 Nissan Altima, was traveling southbound on SR 343 near its intersection with Golf Rd. While traveling southbound, Unit 1 encountered a deer in the roadway. Operator 1 could not perform an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision and struck the deer as a result. Unit 1 sustained impact damage to its front portion. Unit 1 was driven from the scene. Operator 1 was not injured as a result of this crash. The deceased deer was removed from the roadway. Accident notice was provided to Operator 1.

Cornwall Borough

Criminal Trespass – The following individuals have been cited for trespassing at the Carriage House on the Freeman Estate property, located north of Freeman Dr.: On April 18, 2020 at 8:08 p.m., a 17 year old Richland female, a 17 year old Newmanstown female, and two 17 year old Myerstown males. On April 23, 2020 at 8:27 p.m., a 19 year old Myerstown man, a 17 year old Myerstown female, a 17 year old Newmanstown female, a 17 year old Myerstown male, and a 16 year old Myerstown male. On April 29, 2020 at 4:41 p.m., an 18 year old Lebanon woman, an 18 year old Lebanon woman, an 18 year old Lebanon woman, and a 17 year old Lebanon female. The structure is surrounded by a fence to keep out trespassers.

Vehicle Accident – On April 23, 2020 at 9:37 p.m., an accident occurred on the ramp from SR 72 North to SR 322 East. Unit 1, driven by Operator 1, Kathryn Rice, a 52 year old Lebanon woman, failed to stop for the stop sign at the top of the ramp, crossed the eastbound lane of SR 322, struck a set of guide rails and went down an embankment. Operator 1 and two adult Passengers were transported to Hershey Medical Center by First Aid & Safety Patrol EMS for treatment of injuries. Unit 1 sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

Jackson Township

Vehicle Accident – On April 25, 2020 at 1:36 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2000 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Operator 1, Rhiannon Fecera, a 39 year old Bridgeport woman, was traveling westbound on SR 422 on the 600 block of West Lincoln Ave. Operator 1 was under the influence of controlled substances and exited the right side of the roadway. Operator 1 was also utilizing her cell phone and traveling too fast for the conditions of the roadway at this time. Unit 1 struck two mailboxes and a metal pole connected to a metal retaining wall in an adjacent yard. Unit 1 sustained disabling impact damage on its front and passenger side portions. Unit 1 was towed from the scene. Operator 1 was not injured as a result of this crash. Charges to be filed against Operator 1.

Vehicle Accident – This crash occurred on April 29, 2020 at 6:48 p.m. as Unit 1, a 2020 Hyundai Kona, driven by Operator 1, a 50 year old St. Petersburg, FL woman, was traveling north along SR 501. Unit 1 swerved to avoid an animal and struck a telephone pole off the east side of the roadway. Unit 1 came to final uncontrolled rest on its right side. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by CJ Wagners. Operator 1 was not injured in the crash.

Myerstown Borough

Request for Criminal Investigation – PSP-Jonestown received a letter from prison from the victim, a 34 year old Newmanstown woman, requesting a criminal investigation into a theft that occurred at West Washington Ave. on July 1, 2018 at 8:12 a.m.

Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – This crime occurred on April 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. on West Maple Ave. as Tyler Eberly and the Victim were in a verbal altercation. Eberly pulled the ONSTAR device off the Victim’s car and subsequently scratched the Victim’s driver side window. The Victim drove from the area away from Eberly and left the area.

Union Township

DUI – On April 15, 2020 at 11:10 a.m., State Police Jonestown investigated a crash in the area of the 400 block of Jonestown Rd. Troopers subsequently arrested the Operator of Unit 1, Larry Lehman, a 54 year old Donaldson man, for the suspicion of DUI. Victims were 54 year old Jonestown woman, a 73 year old Jonestown man, a 70 year old Jonestown man, a 63 year old Jonestown man, and a 57 year old North Myrtle Beach, SC woman.

Vehicle Accident – This crash occurred on April 24, 2020 at 4:28 p.m. as Unit 1, a 2002 Ford Ranger, driven by Operator 1, a 25 year old Drums man, was traveling on the I-81 northbound on ramp at exit 90. Unit 1 was attempting to merge onto the highway. Unit 1 was traveling too fast on the on ramp and lost control of his vehicle. Unit 1 began sliding and collided with the guard rail. No injuries were reported. Operator 1 was charged with Driving Vehicle At Safe Speed.

Vehicle Accident – On April 26, 2020 at 7:57 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2018 Volvo D13, driven by Operator 1, a 23 year old South Richmond Hill, NY man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 26 year old South Ozone Park, NY man, was traveling north in the right lane of I-81 North near mile marker 88.7. Unit 1 was traveling too fast for conditions. Operator 1 lost control of the vehicle when negotiating a left curve. Unit 1 began sliding on the wet roadway, eventually colliding with the guard rail on the right side of the roadway. After colliding with the guard rail, Unit 1 traveled across the left lane and collided with the left guard rail where it came to final rest. No injuries were reported. Operator 1 was charged with Driving Vehicle At Safe Speed.
