City of Lebanon Police announced Monday that they have identified the man found dead Friday afternoon, May 1, with the investigation leading to the discovery of a second body, about one mile away.

The body of 20 year old Lebanon resident Kenneth Santiago was found alongside the Quittapahilla Creek in the 1300 block of Cumberland Street, where a vacant diner bridges the canal portion of the creek.

According to the release, the investigation into Santiago’s death revealed that he was last seen with a friend who had also been reported missing.

Police began a search for the second male, 21 year old Lebanon resident Alexander Hernandez. His body was found shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, in the Quittapahilla Creek, east of 22nd Street in North Cornwall Township.

Police said there was no evidence that immediately indicated a cause of death. Autopsies are being scheduled for both Santiago and Hernandez.

The investigation is ongoing, according to police. Lebanon City Police thanked the North Cornwall Township Police Department, Special Unit 66 Search and Rescue Team, PA Wilderness Search and Rescue, Lebanon City Fire Department, and Neversink Fire Department for their help in the search operation.
