State Police engaged in a vehicle pursuit of a 27-year-old Grantville man on Wednesday evening that resulted in the man’s arrest.

Upon being followed by a Pennsylvania State Trooper on PA-72, Dillan Moyer began to flee at high speed and unsafely pass vehicles to evade the officer.

The trooper initially started following Moyer after recognizing his vehicle, an orange pickup truck with “01” on both doors, from a lookout alert. The alert had been put out by Manheim Borough Police Department, whom Moyer had evaded in a separate pursuit May 8.

The pursuit continued onto PA-443, Moonshine Road, Tomstown Road, and Cold Spring Road, in the area of Union Township, before Moyer’s vehicle was immobilized by troopers on PA-934. When the vehicle was immobilized, it crashed through a guard rail into an embankment.

After a brief struggle with arresting officers, Moyer was taken into custody. He was then taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center to be evaluated for suspected minor injuries and a DUI blood test.

According to police, there were no law enforcement officers or civilians, aside from Moyer, injured during the pursuit.

Police said that following his arrest, Moyer admitted to smoking marijuana and claimed to have fled because he had a marijuana pipe and marijuana in his vehicle.

Upon his release from the hospital, Moyer was taken to Lebanon County Central Booking Center for arraignment on the charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding, simple assault, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, DUI drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and several traffic violations.

Moyer is currently being held at Lebanon County Correctional Facility having been unable to post bail, set at $25,000 in an arraignment in front of Magisterial District Judge Kim Wolfe on Thursday.
