East Hanover Township
Vehicle Accident – On July 3, 2020 at 3:34 a.m., this crash occurred on SR 22 West approximately .10 miles east of its intersection with Gravel Hill Rd. This crash occurred as Operator 1, an 18 year old Tower City man, fell asleep while driving. Unit 1, a 2012 Dodge Caravan, drifted into the center median and struck the barrier, causing its left front tire rod to snap. Unit 1 came to final rest facing west in the right lane of travel. Operator 1 was cited for Careless Driving. There were no injuries as a result of this crash.
Drug Possession – On June 28, 2020 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Penn State Hershey Medical Center contacted PSP Jonestown to report that drugs and related drug paraphernalia were found in the bag of a transported patient who had been transported from the scene of a crash. PSP is investigating.
Vehicle Accident – On July 3, 2020 at 7:58 p.m., this single vehicle crash occurred on SR 897 near the intersection of Rhine Rd. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica, was traveling east on SR 897 when the windshield fogged up. Unit 1 subsequently left the right side of the roadway and struck a guide rail on the south side of the roadway. Neither Operator 1, a 66 year old Lititz man, or the Passenger, a 71 year old Lititz woman, were injured as a result of this crash and both were wearing their safety belts. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Gilles Miller Towing Company.
DUI – On July 2, 2020 at 3:37 p.m. on South Ramona Rd. and West Main Ave., PSP Jonestown troopers were on patrol when they were flagged down to check on a disabled female motorist slumped at the wheel with her head down and hazards activated on the side of the roadway. Upon the investigation, the Operator, Evelyn Gonzalez, a 50 year old Lebanon woman, was determined to be under the influence of drugs and subsequently arrested for DUI.
Curfew, Trespass – Two 15 year old males from Cornwall and a 13 year old male from South Lebanon Twp. have been cited for Curfew on June 20, 2020 at 12:30 a.m. on the 300 block of South 6th St. Additionally, the 13 year old was cited for Trespass at the same location.
Public Drunkenness – A 29 year old Lebanon resident has been cited for Public Drunkenness on July 1, 2020 at 7:57 p.m. on the 500 block of North 9th St.
Fireworks Violation – A 50 year old Lebanon man has been cited for a Fireworks violation on July 1, 2020 at 6:05 p.m. on the 800 block of Chestnut St.
Drug Possession – Charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia have been filed against a 19 year old Annville resident after investigation into an incident which occurred on May 1, 2020 at 12:06 a.m. on the 100 block of North 11th Ave.
Public Drunkenness – A 55 year old Lebanon resident has been cited for Public Drunkenness on July 3, 2020 at 12:06 a.m. on the 300 block of Cumberland St.
Harassment – A 57 year old Lebanon man has been cited for Harassment on July 2, 2020 at 9:45 p.m. on the 400 block of Pershing Ave.
Harassment – A 29 year old Lebanon woman and a 39 year old Lebanon man have both been cited for Harassment after an incident on June 29, 2020 at 7:41 p.m. on the 200 block of South 12th St.
Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – This crime occurred on July 1, 2020 at 5:58 p.m. in the area of East Main St. In the commission of this crime, unknown Actor(s) approached a piece of plywood behind the Victim’s property by unknown means. The Victim, a 31 year old Newmanstown man, had the plywood near the road behind his home and painted “SLOW DOWN” upon it. The unknown Actor(s) spray painted a penis on the piece of plywood and fled the area in an unknown direction by unknown means.
Drug Possession – On July 2, 2020 at 9:00 p.m. at Strawberry Aly. and East Main St., PSP Jonestown troopers were conducting the investigation of a burglary in progress, when criminal activity was detected in an involved vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and marijuana and related drug paraphernalia were seized. Charges will be filed accordingly with MDJ 52-3-01.
Commercial Burglary – On July 2, 2020 at approximately 7:48 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to the 600 block of East Linden St. for a report of a burglary in progress. Investigation revealed the involved Subjects and the Complainant had a verbal agreement in relation to a rental unit. The individuals consensually kept both of their property in said location. PSP is investigating.
South Londonderry Township
DUI, Careless Driving, Vehicle Accident – On March 8, 2020 at 6:01 p.m., Douglas Templeton, a 23 year old Palmyra man, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol following a crash on the 700 block of Lawn Rd. Templeton was driving his vehicle when he left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole, sheering the pole off. Police found Templeton to be under the influence of alcohol and found empty alcoholic beverage containers in the vehicle. Templeton had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.231%.
Retail Theft, Public Drunkenness, Drug Possession – On Jan. 28, 2020 at 1:58 a.m., Farrell Vanscyoc, a 28 year old Palmyra resident, and Samantha Jo Byers, a 26 year old Lebanon resident, were stopped by Redner’s, located at 110 Northside Commons, for retail theft from their store. Upon a police investigation, it was determined that both Vanscyoc and Byers had taken items from the store without paying for said items. Both Vanscyoc and Byers were charged with Retail Theft. Byers was also cited for Public Drunkenness. Both Vanscyoc and Byers were charged for a Small Amount of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.
Vehicle Accident – On July 2, 2020 at 6:29 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2004 Honda Accord, was traveling north on North Lancaster St. Unit 1 was attempting to enter the intersection to travel westbound on SR 22. While Unit 1 was crossing SR 22 Eastbound, Unit 1 struck Unit 2, a 2007 Toyota Avalon, in the left lane of travel. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage to its frontal fender area. Unit 2 sustained disabling front end impact damage to its front portion. Operator 1, a 45 year old Jonestown man, did not sustain any injuries. Operator 2, a 59 year old Lebanon man, sustained possible injuries and was transported by Life Lion EMS to Good Samaritan Hospital. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were towed by Joe May’s Towing.
Attempt To Locate – On July 3, 2020 at 9:59 p.m. on the 3,000 block of SR 72, PSP Jonestown troopers responded to a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was located and returned home. PSP is investigating.
Vehicle Accident – On June 23, 2020 at 5:20 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2015 Honda Civic, was traveling east on Jonestown Rd. Unit 2, a 2016 Subaru Legacy, was unoccupied and legally parked on the south shoulder in front of the residence located on the 600 block of Jonestown Rd. Operator 1, a 28 year old Jonestown man, became distracted, causing Unit 1 to veer off the roadway. Unit 1 exited the roadway from the south shoulder, where it hit Unit 2, which was parked, in the rear end. Upon impact, Unit 1 rolled over onto its roof, where it came to its position of final rest on its roof, facing a west direction in the east travel lane. Unit 2 came to its position of final rest approximately 15 feet from where initial impact occurred, facing east on the south shoulder. Unit 1 sustained damage to the front and roof. Unit 2 sustained damage to the rear end. Operator 1 was wearing a seatbelt when this crash occurred. Multiple airbags were deployed in Unit 1 as a result of this crash. Operator 1, Passenger 1, a 7 year old Jonestown male, and Passenger 2, a 1 year old Jonestown male, sustained minor injuries and were transported to Hershey Medical Center for further evaluation. Unit 1 was towed by Motter’s Towing. Unit 2 was towed by Porrini’s Towing. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Life Lion Ambulance Co., Northern Lebanon Fire, Motter’s Towing, and Porrini’s Towing.
