Nominations are now open for the 2020 Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce’s ATHENA Award.

The ATHENA Award was first established in 1982 in Lansing, Michigan. Starting in 1990, the ATHENA Award has been granted to a Lebanon County winner each year by the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce.

All nominees must meet certain criteria to be considered for the award. The criteria consists of demonstrating excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession. They must provide valuable service by devoting time and energy to improving the quality of life for others in the Lebanon area. This award specifically is to acknowledge and celebrate individuals who are known for going above and beyond with assisting women in reaching their full potential.

Authentic self, relationships, giving back, collaboration, courageous acts, learning, fierce advocacy, and celebration of life are the ATHENA award principles.

Anyone can send in a nomination for an individual who may have the potential of being selected for the award. To send in a nomination, download the nomination form to fill out and submit the nominee and nominator information required. The deadline for nominations to be accepted at the Chamber office is Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The winner for this year’s award will be presented in December at an in-person ceremony with an additional virtual audience.
