The second annual Holiday Tree Lighting event, hosted by Campbelltown Community Alliance (CCA), will be held Nov. 29 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The location will be Campbelltown Community Park on 129 Lawn Road, Palmyra, and the event is set to be completely outdoors to ensure all who attend stay healthy and safe.
Food trucks such as The Potato Coop Food Truck featuring their pierogies, Philly cheesesteak fries, curly fries, pulled pork fries, and Dough Head Waffles with their dough waffles stuffed with hand-made fresh ingredients. Sugar Whipped will also be in attendance offering their sweet, naturally baked treats.
Around 15 local artisans and crafters will be in attendance for early holiday shopping needs. They will be selling everything from handmade jewelry, children’s masks, hair bows, turbans, children’s costumes, wreaths, home decor, holiday decor, ornaments, and blacksmith items, to embroidered towels, t-shirts, and crocheted blankets.
Crafts and games will be available for children and safe COVID protection measures will be in place. Anyone who is interested in volunteering to host a table with crafts or games should contact campbelltowncommunityalliance@gmail.com.
Live entertainment will be provided by Jake Nguyen, a local singer. Nguyen will be performing a few of his original songs, as well as seasonal holiday tunes. Santa will also make an appearance.
“We spent several hours putting on five sets of lights,” Jennifer Bushta, CCA President, said. “Each set is 72 feet long. The tree is ready for our Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Event and it is beautiful. We can’t wait to light it up.”
The tree lighting will take place after the festivities around 5:00 to 5:15 p.m. CCA plans to sell Campbelltown T-shirts and host a basket raffle table.
“Operation Fill a Cruiser” will be at the event for the seventh annual toy drive. This is sponsored by the South Londonderry Township Police. Bring new, unwrapped toys to donate to this cause that lends a helping hand to local families in need. The ultimate goal is to stuff the police cruiser full of gifts for the children.
Masks will be a requirement for everyone to join in on the holiday fun. The community event Facebook page with additional information can be viewed here.
