LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.

The Pet of the Week sometimes features a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home. Other times the column will spotlight an animal that’s available for adoption through a local shelter and is seeking a forever family. This week, LebTown welcomes Pitties.Love.Peace to the rotation!

Pitties.Love.Peace, based in Elizabethtown, provides a safe haven for pit bulls, pit mixes and other dogs throughout the Northeast, primarily focusing on Pennsylvania. Rather than maintaining its dogs in a shelter, PLP relies on foster families to give their pups a good and safe environment until their forever home is found.

Our featured furbaby this week is Hunter. Say hello, Hunter!

Hunter

Hunter is a 1-year-old shepherd mix. According to PLP spokeswoman Mika Stiefel, he’s “happy, lovable, and energetic,” and a “belly rub superfan.”

He’s a smart cookie who loves to run and play, Mika says. And he’s dog-friendly, “so he would enjoy a home with at least one playful and tolerant doggie sibling.”

They’re not sure yet how Hunter would respond to a cat sibling, but he could be tested for an approved applicant with cats, she says. “His ideal home has no smaller children as he is a big, silly puppy and is still learning his own size.”

Hunter

The rescue group is “looking for an active family committed to ongoing training and socialization” to keep Hunter on track to being the very best pup he can be.

Do you think Hunter is right for your home? Visit Pitties.Love.Peace online to begin the application process! (And if you are lucky enough to meet Hunter, be sure to give him a great big belly rub!)
