Lebanon city police had a busy day on Tuesday, March 14, with two arrests made in unrelated burglary and robbery incidents.

The first incident occurred around 1 a.m. Tuesday, when officers were dispatched to the Turkey Hill at 12th and Maple streets for a robbery.

Police said that upon arrival they interviewed a clerk who relayed to them that someone had entered the store and handed the clerk a note while buying a carton of cigarettes. According to the release, the note indicated that a robbery was taking place and that the suspect had a gun, although police said that no gun was displayed.

The suspect was able to leave the store with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

Police said they reviewed the store’s video surveillance system and interviewed the store clerk to come up with a description of the suspect. Shortly thereafter, a suspect matching that description was located by North Lebanon Township police.

According to the release, Kenneth Bruce Jr. was charged with robbery and terroristic threats in relation to the incident and later remanded to Lebanon County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail, which was set at $20,000 in an arraignment by Magisterial District Judge John Ditzler.

A second and unrelated incident took place later in the day when city police were dispatched to the 600 block of South 7th Street for a burglary in progress shortly after 11 a.m. According to the release, a neighbor contacted police after seeing the suspect break a window and enter the building.

Police said that while they were on scene, a bag was observed being thrown out of one of the windows, followed seconds later by a subject jumping out of the same window. Police said they arrested a 21-year-old Lebanon man, Trenton Naugle, and charged him with burglary, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.

Naugle was transported to Lebanon County Correctional Facility following arraignment by Judge Ditzler, with bail set at $20,000.

Police said that both investigations are ongoing and any witnesses or persons with other information should contact the department at 717-272-6611 or CrimeStoppers at 717-270-9800.
