Cornwall Borough Council is considering a $49,057.78 audio/visual upgrade to its meeting hall. Here’s our breakdown of the proposal.
The ARPA-funded upgrade would include Zoom compatibility to stream and take input from the public remotely during routine meetings. It would also amplify speakers of both the council and the audience.
If passed, the upgrade may enable the meeting room to be rented out and used more extensively.

The proposed microphone cost is $4,073.60, including a 24-inch Shure ceiling microphone and wiring.
The $2,572 speaker cost includes six 4-inch ceiling-mounted loudspeakers and wiring.
Controls for the A/V upgrade cost $5,930.40, including licenses, a wall-mounted touch screen controller, and wiring.
Camera costs total $3,733, including a wall-mounted PTZ camera, ceiling mount accessory, and wiring.
TV costs add up to $6,843 and include two 86-inch monitors, mounting, and wiring.
Video switching and processing costs total $2,769, with most costs from a ClickShare conference set with screen share capabilities.
Other racks and accessories total $2,428. Labor costs from Illuminated Integration Professional Services total $19,120.
Lastly, shipping totals $1,348.78 and gas costs $240.
Council members will have an opportunity to sample Illuminated Integration’s equipment April 4. They are also seeking additional quotes from Vistacom and Sage Technologies to compare prices.
“I don’t know whether that’s a good price or not, for a 30- by 32-foot room,” said council president Brue Harris. “But I found two other audio/visual companies that are willing to give us a bid.”
Public input will be taken prior to any action.
Cornwall Borough Council meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. These meetings are open to the public and do not require prior registration.
