The free event is suitable for all ages and skill levels. Prior to the ride, attendees can decorate their bikes with flowers provided by the organizers. Following the event, participants can enjoy tacos and refreshments.

“It’s great for anyone because it’s a short distance and a slow ride, not a race,” said Laurie Crawford, vice president of the Lebanon Valley Bicycle Coalition, in a press release.

Helmets are required for the ride, but no RSVP is necessary. Attendees should gather at Lebanon Bicycle Recycle before the 6 p.m. start. Additional events hosted by Lebanon Bicycle Recycle can be found on their Facebook page, including Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA on May 6, Ride of Silence on May 17, and Tour de Lebanon Valley on June 10.

Lebanon Bicycle Recycle accepts bike and bike part donations and is currently seeking bilingual volunteers. The workshop, located at 53 Chestnut St., will be open every Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. beginning in May. For more information, visit lebanonbicyclerecycle.com.

The Lebanon Valley Bicycle Coalition, a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2008, aims to make the Lebanon Valley region a safer place for bicyclists. Membership and volunteer opportunities are available at www.bikelebanon.org.
