Community oration of famed Frederick Douglass speech scheduled July 5 at LVC
For the second year running, the Lebanon County branch of the NAACP will hold a community oration of 19th-century abolitionist Frederick Douglass’s famous speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”
Independence Day is also Fish-for-Free Day in PA
The Fish & Boat Commission’s promotion allows any PA resident or nonresident to legally fish that day on state waterways with no fishing license required.

Lebanon Regal Cinemas offering $1 family-friendly movies twice a week
As part of Regal Movies’ Summer Movie Express series, Lebanon’s Regal Theater will be offering $1 family-friendly movies Tuesdays and Wednesdays all summer. Each week until early September, two movies will be played each day at 3:30 p.m.
Humane Society holding Four Paws Poker Chip Run on June 26
The event is in memory of Cory Gracely, who volunteered at the shelter, where he worked with dogs (and his daughter), fixed items, helped with lawn care and did other work to assist the shelter.
