💡 What does the coverage status mean? 💡

LebTown has a few different coverage statuses:

  • Inactive: Township has refused to participate in LebTown’s public notice program.
  • Monitoring: Township is actively participating in LebTown’s public notice program.
  • Covered: Township is actively participating in LebTown’s public notice program & is covered regularly by a LebTown journalist.
  • (Planned) Active Monitoring: Township is actively participating in the public notice program & is covered regularly by a LebTown documenter.

💡 What is a public notice? 💡

The Pennsylvania Sunshine Act requires agencies to provide three days notice of regular meetings and 24 hours notice of special or rescheduled meetings. Meeting notice must be published in a general circulation newspaper near where the agency is located or where the meeting is being held. The definition of general circulation newspaper precludes digital newspapers such as LebTown. However, LebTown has provided the publication of public notices as a free privilege to all Lebanon County municipalities. The management of LebTown is appreciative to North Cornwall Township for its participation in this civic interest program, which provides a general benefit at no cost to taxpayers or the public.

💡How can I have my municipality meetings covered? 💡

Since 2022, LebTown has made municipal meeting coverage a top priority, and a couple years later, we’re seeing the impact of our commitment to this vital form of local journalism. Today we cover more than a half-dozen of municipalities each month, and we are determined to keep growing until we can cover every Lebanon County municipality.
