The inflatable dome is up and in use! H. R. Weaver Building Systems, Inc. recently inflated the 75,000 sq ft fabric dome that encloses the artificial turf field next to In the Net Sports Complex. Located at the corner of Airport and Brandt Roads in South Londonderry Township stands the 340 ft long, 222 ft wide, 77 ft high dome made of a vinyl fabric. With the foundation work being completed in the weeks prior, on Friday Jan. 17, 45 employees in approx.10 hours hooked up the air handler, inflated the dome, hung the 77 interior lights, and connected the fabric to air lock doors for the first use of the dome on Saturday morning.

According to H.R. Weaver Building Systems, Inc., Owner/President Chad Weaver, also owner of In the Net Sports Complex in the Flightpath Sports Park they added the dome in order to have the turf field utilized all year round. The dome, which will be inflated every December and deflated every March, will help accommodate the fast growth in programs such as soccer, softball and lacrosse.
