East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On May 22, 2020 at 1:33 p.m., this single vehicle crash occurred as Operator 1, a 59 year old Odessa, TX man, was traveling northbound on I 81 Northbound. Operator 1 was traveling 65 mph when he engaged the brakes due to a back log. Operator 1 lost control of Unit 1, a 2011 Peterbilt 386, and its trailing unit, struck the guide rail at two locations and then overturned on its right side. Unit 1 came to final rest blocking the right lane and the 85 A exit off ramp. Operator 1 was not injured as a result of this crash.

Jackson Township

Vehicle Accident – On May 21, 2020 at approximately 4:33 p.m., PSP-Jonestown responded to the intersection of Tulpehocken Rd. and Millardsville Rd. for a reported two vehicle crash. This crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2016 General MTRS Corp Acadia, was traveling north on Millardsville Rd. as Unit 1, a 2003 Ford Ranger, was stopped at the stop sign of Tulpehocken Rd. Unit 1 proceeded into the intersection and was subsequently struck by Unit 2. PSP-Jonestown observed physical evidence that indicated Unit 2 struck Unit 1 as it proceeded through the intersection. Unit 1 sustained functional damage to the passenger’s side truck bed, in front of the rear wheel. Unit 2 sustained functional damage to the front driver’s side fender and bumper, specifically the driver’s side headlight assembly.

Lebanon City

Riot, Failure of Disorderly Persons to Disperse, Resisting Arrest – Raquel Torres, a 38 year old Lebanon resident, has been charged with Riot, Failure of Disorderly Persons to Disperse Upon Official Order, Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing Administration of Law or Other Governmental Function, Resisting Arrest, and Dogs Running At Large after an incident on May 18, 2020 at 10:09 p.m. on the 00 block of South 11th St. Torres is accused of assisting a female juvenile to escape the grasp of a police officer after the juvenile became disorderly. Torres is accused of inciting a group to obstruct police officers. Torres is also accused of resisting arrest efforts of officers, causing multiple officers to become involved to safely secure her in the crowd as she continued to incite the group. Two dogs were released from her home. The dogs bit two officers, causing injury to one of the officers. Police allege Torres failed to remain calm and disperse when ordered to do so.

A 17 year old male was also charged during this incident. He was charged with Aggravated Assault, Riot, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest. The juvenile is accused of spitting in the face of an officer. When that officer attempted to arrest the juvenile for spitting on him, police allege the juvenile attacked the officer, punching and jumping on the officer. Several officers were needed to gain control of the juvenile.

Charges were filed with the Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office after Lebanon County Juvenile Probation placed the juvenile on a monitoring device. Charges of Failure of Disorderly Persons to Disperse Upon Official Order and Disorderly Conduct have been filed against a 21 year old Lebanon resident and a Disorderly Conduct charge has been filed against a 36 year old Lebanon resident. Charges are pending against other involved, yet to be identified persons.

Disorderly Conduct – Four 14 year old males from Lebanon and two 15 year old males from Lebanon have been cited for Disorderly Conduct after an incident on May 4, 2020 at 2:07 p.m. on the 1500 block of Lafayette St.

Theft – A Theft charge has been filed against Reinaldo Arroyo, a 19 year old Lebanon resident, after investigation into a theft occurring between April 7, 2020 and April 28, 2020 on the 1200 block of Maple St. Arroyo is accused of taking money and lottery tickets from his place of employment totaling approximately $1,200.

Myerstown Borough

Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – On May 21, 2020 at 9:30 a.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown responded to the 0 block of East Muth Ave. for the report of damage to a parked vehicle. The vehicle, a tan 2008 Toyota Sienna, was parked along the curb to the north of the 0 block of East Muth Ave., facing east. Damage was observed to the driver’s side second row and third row windows. The vehicle was not entered, nor were there any items missing from inside. The damage was estimated to cost approximately $600 to repair. This incident was believed to have occurred between 3:30 p.m. on May 20, 2020 and 9:30 a.m. on May 21, 2020. No identifying information was immediately available for any potential Actors, nor was it clear how the damage was inflicted on the tan 2008 Toyota Sienna. A neighborhood canvass was conducted with negative results. A similar but separate incident was reported to State Police on the same date in Myerstown Boro.

Pine Grove Township

Possession of Controlled Substance and Prohibited Offensive Weapon – This crime occurred on May 23, 2020 at 11:42 a.m. In the commission of this crime, the Accused, Adam Wilhelm, a 30 year old Pine Grove man, was observed walking along Suedberg Rd. A trooper identified the Accused as a subject having an arrest warrant out of the Schuylkill County Sheriff’s Office. As the trooper pulled up to speak with the Accused, the Accused attempted to flee on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the Accused was taken in to custody without further incident. During a search incident to arrest, the Accused was found to be in possession of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and a stun gun. The Accused was transported to the Schuylkill County Prison on his active warrant. Charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Prohibited Offensive Weapon were filed on the Accused with MDJ Rossi’s office.

Swatara Township

Harassment – On May 23, 2020 at 4:09 p.m., this incident occurred as a husband, a 50 year old Bethel man, and wife, a 49 year old Lebanon woman, engaged in an argument on Quarry Rd. which led to both parties striking each other, causing minor injury.

Union Township

Drug Possession – On May 22, 2020 at 12:54 a.m., PSP Jonestown initiated a traffic stop on a 2012 Acura MDX at Block Allentown Blvd. It was determined the driver was in possession of marijuana and related contraband. Charges are pending.

Vehicle Accident – On May 22, 2020 at 12:01 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2007 Harley-Davidson Superglide motorcycle, was traveling south on I 81 in the area of mile marker 87.7 in a rainstorm. Unit 2, a 2008 Nissan Altima, Unit 3, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, and Unit 4, a 2013 Dodge Dart, were also traveling south and following directly behind Unit 1 in a line. Initial impact occurred when Operator 1, a 48 years old Hopatcong, NJ man, lost control of his motorcycle on the wet roadways and laid the motorcycle on its side. Both Operator 2, a, 18 year old Stanhope, NJ man, and Operator 3, an 18 year old Stanhope, NJ man, swerved to the right to avoid striking Unit 1. The second impact occurred when Unit 3 struck the rear of Unit 2 as both Units swerved to the right to avoid Unit 1. Operator 4, an 18 year old Hopatcong, NJ man, also swerved to the right to avoid striking the other three Units. The third impact occurred as Unit 4 struck a tree in the wood line off the right shoulder of the roadway. Operator 1 received minor injuries during the crash. Unit 2 and Unit 4 were towed from the scene by Motter’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for VC 3361 Driving Too Fast For Conditions. I 81 South was shut down near the I 78 split for several hours in relation to this crash and several other crashes that occurred during the rainstorm.
