Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident – On May 28, 2020 at 2:22 a.m., this single vehicle crash occurred on I 78 Eastbound near mile marker 6. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2020 Hyundai Kona, driven by Operator 1, a 26 year old Columbus, OH woman, was traveling east on I 78. Operator 1 related she fell asleep while traveling in the right travel lane. As a result, Unit 1 left the roadway and struck a guide rail on the south (right) side of the roadway outside the lane of travel. Operator 1 related she was not injured as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing Company.

Vehicle Accident – On June 5, 2020 at 5:11 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Freeport Rd. and South Pine Grove St. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2002 Lincoln-Continental Town Car, was traveling south on South Pine Grove St. and Unit 2, a 2020 Jeep, was traveling north on South Pine Grove St. Unit 1 attempted to make a left turn onto Freeport Rd., failing to yield to Unit 2 traveling north. Unit 1 struck Unit 2, causing Unit 2 to travel over a guide rail into a creek bed. Operator 1 was transported via First Aid Safety and Patrol to Hershey Medical Center. Both Units were towed by Leffler Towing. V & M Towing, Fredericksburg Fire Company, Lebanon First Aid Safety and Patrol, and Penn State Life Lion assisted on scene.

Theft – On June 2, 2020 at 3:43 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Pine Grove Rd. after receiving the report of a fictitious unemployment check being mailed to Pine Grove Rd. The check was made out to the Victim, a 43 year old Fredericksburg woman, who had never filed for unemployment. All information was forwarded to the necessary entities for investigation.

East Hanover Township

Overdose – On June 2, 2020 at approximately 6:01 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to the 10,000 block of Jonestown Rd. for a possible drug overdose. Upon arrival on scene, the Victim, Casey Wiseman, a 30 year old Jonestown man, was found unresponsive. Narcan was administered on scene, stabilizing the Victim. The Victim was subsequently transported to Hershey Medical Center for further treatment. No charges have been filed as a result of this incident.

Vehicle Accident – On June 3, 2020 at 4:33 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2009 BMW 3.0 SI, driven by Operator 1, a 27 year old Newburg man, was traveling on I 81 Northbound on the left lane when it hit the rear end of Unit 2, a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Operator 2, Roger Klinger, a 60 year old Pine Grove man. Unit 2 was also traveling upon the left lane of I 81 Northbound. After impact, Unit 2 then struck the rear end of Unit 3, a 2015 Mack Trucks, driven by Operator 3, 65 year old Roanoke, VA man. Unit 3 was traveling upon the right lane of I 81 Northbound and was stopped due to a backlog in traffic. All vehicles involved sustained disabling damage. Operator 2 was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lebanon County Deputy Coroner. All three Operators were wearing their safety restraints. The investigation is ongoing. Vehicle Accident – On June 4, 2020 at 8:19 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a white Chevrolet four-door pickup, was traveling north on Ono Rd., just north of Blacksmith Ln. For unknown reasons, Unit 1 swerved off to the left side of the roadway. Initial impact occurred when Unit 1 struck a Met-Ed utility pole. Operator 1 remained on scene for several minutes before fleeing in Unit 1 without providing any information. Unit 1 was reported to have damage to the front left fender and bumper areas. The last four of the PA registration plate on the Chevrolet were related to be “2234.”

Theft – On May 31, 2020 at 11:50 a.m., this incident occurred on the 0 block of Park Dr., as an Actor(s) approached the parking lot from an unknown direction, by unknown means. The Actor(s) removed two catalytic converters from a purple 1996 Chevy Monte Carlo and a gold 2005 Ford Freestyle. The Actor(s) fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means of travel. The Victim was a 69 year old Grantville man. The investigation is ongoing.

Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – On May 30, 2020 at 3:07 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown were dispatched to Blacks Bridge Rd. for the report of a Criminal Mischief. Upon arrival on scene, it was determined an unknown object struck the Victim’s front windshield. The Victim was a 45 year old Annville man. The investigation is still ongoing.

Vehicle Accident – On June 3, 2020 at 6:16 p.m., this crash occurred on I 81 South at mile marker 82.7 as Unit 1, a 2012 Volvo TR, driven by Operator 1, a 38 year old Pompano Beach, FL man, was traveling too fast for the conditions of the roadway and impacted the rear portion of Unit 2, a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Operator 2, a 63 year old York man, while both Units were in the left lane. Unit 2 was moving at a reduced speed due to a backlog present on I 81 South. Operator 1 related he was beeping his horn at Unit 2 and was unable to stop prior to impacting its rear portion. There were also rainy conditions at this time. Both Units came to final rest on the left shoulder of the roadway and were able to be driven from the scene. Operator 1 was charged as a result of this crash. Accident notice was provided to both Operators. Three Passengers in Unit 2 were believed to have suspected minor injuries as a result.

Harassment – On June 6, 2020 at 7:34 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Allentown Blvd. and Lincoln School Rd. for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, the Victim, a 26 year old Lebanon woman, reported the Suspect, a 27 year old Lebanon man, grabbed her by the throat. The Victim reported the Suspect caused damage to her vehicle’s hood and windshield. Charges will be filed.

Heidelberg Township

Firearm Purchase – On June 1, 2020 at 3:08 p.m., PSP Jonestown was requested to investigate a gun purchase which was denied at Canaan Grove Rd. The investigation is ongoing.

Assault – On May 30, 2020 at 6:06 p.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to SR 897 West for a reported assault. A homeowner, a 59 year old Newmanstown man, was assaulted as he was cutting his grass. The investigation is ongoing.

Jackson Township

Death Of Natural Causes – On May 28, 2020 at approximately 12:34 a.m., PSP Jonestown was dispatched to the 400 block of West Main Ave. for an unconscious male. The Victim, Stephen Moats, a 53 year old Myerstown man, was pronounced deceased on scene. The investigation of the Victim’s death revealed to be natural in nature.

Vehicle Accident – On June 2, 2020 at 3:30 a.m., this single motor vehicle crash occurred at the property on the 400 block of East Lincoln Ave. This crash occurred as Operator 1, a 20 year old Lebanon man, fell asleep traveling west on East Lincoln Ave. Unit 1, a 2004 Nissan 350Z, subsequently left the roadway to the right hand side, striking the mailbox on the property and then a bush. The vehicle then came to final rest facing north. Operator 1 was not injured as a result of this crash.

Theft – On May 16, 2020, the Victim, a 12 year old Myerstown male, contacted PSP Jonestown to report a stolen bicycle. Between 4:40 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on May 16, 2020, the Victim contacted PSP Jonestown to report his black and gray BMX style Elite Destro bike had been stolen while he was walking on a trail at the Lakeside Quarry. In the commission of this crime, an unknown Actor(s) stole the bike while the Victim was walking on a trail in the area. The Actor(s) fled the area in an unknown direction by unknown means. The bike is valued at $350. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194.

Indecent Exposure – On June 7, 2020 at 12:46 p.m., this crime occurred on West Main Ave. when the Victim looked out his back window and observed the Suspect, Brock Yoder, a 44 year old Myerstown man, in his yard. The Victim related the Suspect was laying on a bed in his yard completely naked. There is no fencing or privacy measures in place blocking the view of the Suspect from neighbors or the public. The Suspect subsequently proceeded inside his residence and put on shorts. Charges are to be filed through MDJ Verna.

Lebanon City

Firearm Possession – On June 1, 2020 at approximately 1:30 a.m., members of PSP Jonestown conducted a traffic stop on North 10th St., just north of Guilford St. on a blue 2020 Nissan Altima bearing NY registration JMM8887. During the course of the traffic stop, a probable cause search yielded the seizure of a Beretta 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number, a 9mm 30 round extended magazine containing 15 9mm rounds, a small amount of marijuana, and additional drug paraphernalia. The vehicle occupants, Dashawn Buie, a 22 year old Lebanon man, and Mark Laurel, a 22 year old Lebanon man, both denied knowledge of or ownership of the handgun. A criminal history check for Buie found him to be a convicted felon, not to possess a firearm. Laurel was further determined to not possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.

Buie was charged with the following PA Title 18 Crimes Code violations: Possession of Firearm with Altered Manufacturer’s Number (felony), Criminal Conspiracy: Possession of Firearm with Altered Manufacturer’s Number (felony), Possession of Firearm Prohibited: Person Not to Possess, Use, Manufacture, Control, Sell, or Transfer Firearms (felony), Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana (misdemeanor), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor), Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended/Revoked (summary), and Disregard of Single Traffic Lane (summary).

Laurel was charged with the following PA Title 18 Crimes Code violations: Possession of Firearm with Altered Manufacturer’s Number (felony), Criminal Conspiracy: Possession of Firearm with Altered Manufacturer’s Number (felony), Firearms Not to be Carried without a License (felony), Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana (misdemeanor), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor).

Buie and Laurel transported to Lebanon County Central Booking. On June 1, 2020, Buie and Laurel were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge John Ditzler and remanded to Lebanon County Correctional Facility, unable to post $25,000 bail. Buie and Laurel were also found to be on probation with Lebanon County Probation and are also being held on a probation violation detainer.

Myerstown Borough

Assault – On May 30, 2020 at 8:41 p.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to West Washington Ave. for a reported domestic in progress call. A female, a 33 year old Myerstown woman, was assaulted by her boyfriend, a Joshua Gerhart, a 31 year old Myerstown man, and was subsequently arrested.

Theft – On June 3, 2020 at approximately 10:53 a.m., PSP Jonestown received the report of a stolen air compressor on West Carpenter Ave. The investigation continues.

Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – On June 4, 2020, between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., an unknown Actor(s) vandalized a red 1999 Volkswagon Jetta on the 00 block of East Main St. The Actor(s) poured “Quick-Crete” into the exhaust pipe of the vandalized vehicle. The Victim, a 21 year old Myerstown man, related that he noticed the damage while driving on the roadways.

Theft – Between May 25, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. and May 26, 2020 at 3:27 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to East Washington Ave. for items stolen from two vehicles. The Victims were a 25 year old Lebanon woman and a 36 year old Myerstown woman. The Victims reported their vehicles were unlocked and money was stolen from inside. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact PSP Jonestown and refer to the incident number PA 2020-747117.

Terroristic Threats – On May 26, 2020 at 5:30 p.m., PSP Jonestown was on scene for another incident at West Washington Ave. and North Goodwill St. While on scene, a physical altercation occurred with the Victims and Arrestee. The Victims were a 17 year old Myerstown male and an 18 year old Myerstown woman. The Arrestee was an 18 year old Myerstown man. PSP troopers attempted to break up the fight and conduct a lawful arrest at which time the Arrestee resisted arrest. The Arrestee fled on foot and was apprehended. Charges were filed.

North Annville Township

DUI – On May 16, 2020 at 2:15 a.m., State Police Jonestown were dispatched to the Arrestee’s residence, located on the 6,000 block of Valley Glen Rd., for a crash that occurred. The Arrestee, Donald Burshnick, a 35 year old Annville man, related he crashed his vehicle and then drove home. Upon interviewing the Arrestee, he displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for DUI.

Vehicle Accident – On June 5, 2020 at 4:54 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2015 Nissan Frontier, driven by Operator 1, a 33 year old Annville man, was traveling east on Syner Rd. Operator 1 related that there was a tree in the roadway. Operator 1 applied the brakes and then lost control due to the wet leaves and wet roadway. Unit 1 struck a weigh scale on the right side of the eastbound lane before coming to final rest facing south in a dirt embankment. Unit 1 sustained minor frontal impact damage. Unit 1 was towed from the scene. Operator 1 sustained no injuries. Operator 1 was not cited due to the wet roadway, dim lighting, wet leaves on the roadway, and the tree lying in the middle of the roadway.

North Lebanon Township

Disorderly Conduct – A 33 year old Lebanon woman and a 38 year old Lebanon man both were charged with Disorderly Conduct after an incident that occurred at their residence on May 20, 2020.

Possession of Controlled Substance – Elijah Gettle, a 25 year old Newmanstown resident, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and six vehicle violations as a result of an incident that occurred in the 2,400 block of East Cumberland St. on Jan. 23, 2020.

Unauthorized Use Of Motor Vehicle – Matthew Rodriguez-Parrilla, a 19 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Theft after an incident that occurred on May 26, 2020.

Simple Assault – Luis Cruz-Rodriguez, a 24 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Simple Assault and Harassment after an incident that occurred at his residence on May 31, 2020.

Drug Violation – Kimberly Rhee, a 21 year old Stevens resident, was charged with three counts of Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia as a result of an incident that occurred on May 27, 2020, in the 2800 block of East Cumberland St.

Drug Violation – Cherelicia Velez-Mora, a 29 year old Myerstown resident, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and three traffic violations as a result of a stop that occurred in the 800 block of Kimmerlings Rd.

DUI – Malik Congo, a 41 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol after an incident that occurred on the 1300 block of East Lehman St.

North Londonderry Township

Use Of Consumer Fireworks – On May 29, 2020, on the 600 block of South Columbus St., a Palmyra resident was cited for violating restrictions associated with consumer-grade fireworks. The resident was discharging the fireworks within 150 feet of a structure.

Retail Theft – Upon the completion of an investigation, Alexis Nunez Rios, a 30 year old Lebanon resident, was charged in connection with four retail thefts from Wal-Mart, located at 100 North Londonderry Sq., totaling $3,690.06.

Traffic Violations – On June 7, 2020 at 5:58 p.m., a 27 year old Palmyra woman was cited with several traffic violations, including Accident Involving Damage to Unattended Vehicle, Duty to Give Information/Render Aid, and Careless Driving, after she became distracted and collided with a legally parked vehicle on the 00 block of Brunswick Ln. owned by a 35 year old Palmyra man, and failed to stop and provide required information.

Swatara Township

Theft – On June 3, 2020 at 11:56 a.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to Swatara Rd. for the report of receiving fraudulent unemployment checks in the United States Postal Service.

Drug Possession – On June 6, 2020 at 11:08 p.m., PSP Jonestown initiated a traffic stop on a 2003 Hyundai Elantra on SR 22. It was determined the driver was in possession of marijuana and related contraband. Charges are pending.

PFA Violation – On June 5, 2020 at 4:40 p.m., this crime occurred on the 2,000 block of Quarry Rd. The Victim obtained an active PFA against the Suspect, Larry Kreiser, a 50 year old Bethel man, on May 24, 2020. On June 5, 2020, the Suspect attempted to call the Victim 16 times. The Suspect also sent flowers on June 2, 2020, June 3, 2020, June 4, 2020, and June 5, 2020, along with letters. These acts were in violation of the active PFA order. The Suspect was taken into custody and charges were prepared through MDJ 52-3-03.

Union Township

Drug Possession – On May 16, 2020 at 11:07 p.m., at SR 72 and Huckleberry Rd., a traffic stop conducted by members of PSP Jonestown found the vehicle operator, a 31 year old Lebanon woman, to be under the influence of marijuana. Additionally, located within the vehicle was a small amount of marijuana and additional drug paraphernalia. Charges for this incident to be filed in Magisterial District Court 52-3-04.

Drug Possession – On May 27, 2020 at 12:37 p.m., on the 900 block of I 81 North, a traffic stop conducted by members of PSP Jonestown on a 2014 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Janay Brown, a 26 year old Baltimore, MD woman, yielded the seizure of marijuana and additional drug paraphernalia. Charges for this incident have been filed in Magisterial District Court 52-3-04.

Vehicle Accident – On June 3, 2020 at 11:32 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2006 Freightliner Columbia, driven by Operator 1, a 45 year old Richmond Hill, NY man, was traveling north on I 81 in the area of mile marker 87.1. Operator 1 lost control of Unit 1 on the wet roadway. Initial impact occurred when Unit 1 struck a guide rail on the right side of the roadway. Unit 1 continued through the guide rail and down a steep embankment. Unit 1 came to final uncontrolled rest after striking a tree at the bottom of the embankment. Operator 1 was not injured and Unit 1 was towed from the scene by H & S Towing. Assisted on scene by North Lebanon and FTIG fire companies. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Within a Single Lane.

Harassment – On June 1, 2020 at approximately 12:48 p.m., PSP Jonestown received the report of an individual making repeated threatening phone calls to a local fire department, the Jonestown Fire Company. The investigation continues.

Vehicle Accident – On June 4, 2020 at 5:51 p.m., this multi-vehicle commercial truck crash occurred along I 81 at mile marker 87.7. This crash occurred as a secondary crash along I 81 South near mile marker 87.5. This crash occurred during strong thunderstorms and low visibility conditions. This crash occurred as Unit 1 and Unit 2 slowed down for a crash ahead. Unit 4 pulled off the right shoulder of I 81. Unit 3 was unable to stop in time and struck the rear left trailer of Unit 4. Unit 5 observed the crash and attempted to drive off the left shoulder of I 81. Unit 5’s trailer struck the trailer of Unit 1. Unit 6 observed the crash and was unable to stop in time. Unit 6 struck Unit 3 and the rear of Unit 5. Operator 3 was transported to Hershey Medical Center by Penn State Life Lion for a serious leg injury. Hammers Towing, H & S Towing, Triple K Fleet Service, and Blatt and Tillet Towing assisted on scene.

Theft – On June 4, 2020 at 4:17 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded for a theft by deception involving a scam. Upon arrival, the Victim reported she was contacted by Publisher Clearing House that she won 3.5 million dollars. The Victim related she was told to get an eBay gift card and send it to the Suspect in order to retrieve the 3.5 million dollars.

DUI – On June 4, 2020 at 5:53 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to SR 72 and Everest Ln. for two individuals drinking alcohol in their vehicle, a 2020 Ford Fusion. Upon arrival, the vehicle drove past the PSP trooper and into the Speedway parking lot. It was determined that the Operator of the vehicle, a 32 year old Albany, NY man, was under the influence of alcohol. Charges will be filed.

Vehicle Accident – On June 7, 2020 at approximately 10:49 p.m., Unit 1, a 2011 Toyota RAV4, driven by Operator 1, a 30 year old Williamstown woman, was traveling west on Moonshine Rd. Unit 1 exited the right side of the roadway into a grassy area before striking a utility pole. Unit 1 came to final rest facing east off the eastbound shoulder of the roadway. Unit 1 sustained disabling frontal impact damage. Unit 1 was towed by AAA Towing. Operator 1 sustained minor injuries and refused medical transport. Operator 1 was found to be in possession of controlled substances and related paraphernalia. Charges are to be filed.
