Here are the most recent food safety violations in Lebanon County, as documented by Pennsylvania’s Department of Agriculture.

Inspections are taken as a “snapshot” of the day and time, and should not necessarily be taken as overall indicators of an establishment’s cleanliness. Violations are often corrected prior to the inspector leaving the site. Restaurants were found to be in compliance unless otherwise noted.

6 – 201.13 Floor and Wall Junctions, Coved, and Enclosed or Sealed
Walls in the toilet room around the sink and the floor/wall junction have deteriorated and have openings that should be closed.

4 – 601.11(A) Equipment, Food Contact Surfaces, Nonfood Contact Surfaces and Utensils
The ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have thick black and yellow residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Ice machine was apparently not cleaned properly for quite some time. Manager prohibited customers from accessing the ice.

6 – 501.11 Repairing-Premises, Structures, Attachments & Fixtures-Methods
One junction box above the freezer door has an open knockout. Block wall in the rear exterior area behind a compressor unit, has a hole, or is broken and in need of repair.

6 – 501.111 Controlling Pests
Potential rodent harborage areas on the exterior of the building perimeter observed due to leaves by a compressor unit, old shelves and an obsolete display unit being stored against the building. Obsolete items should be removed from the premises.

3 – 501.18 Ready-to-Eat, Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food, Dispostion
One sandwich, a potentially hazardous ready to eat food requiring datemarking, in the display area, was beyond the date-marking and required discarding. Discarded.

The fan covers on the evaporator in the walk-in cooler, non-food contact surfaces, are not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. The ceiling of the walk-in cooler, a non-food contact surface, is not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil.

There is a junction box above the three-compartment sink with an open knockout. In the same area there are loose wires connected with with wire nuts. In the walk-in cooler wires are tied to the exterior of the fan guard.

6 – 501.111 Controlling Pests
Potential rodent harborage areas on the exterior of the building perimeter observed in rear area due to an excessive amount of weeds that are not being maintained.

3 – 307.11 Miscellaneous Sources of Contamination
A utility sink immediately next to the three-compartment sink is reportedly the mop sink. There is nothing to distinguish it from a sink for cleaning food equipment or utensils.

6 – 501.16 Drying Mops
Mops are not being hung to air dry.

3 – 501.16(A2)(B) Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food, Cold Holding
Burrittos were held at 46 °F, in the display area, rather than 41°F or below as required. Discarded 19 items.

6 – 501.113 Storing Maintenance Tools
There isn’t any place to properly hang the mop.
