There’s nothing quite like being a pet’s person.

Starting this week, LebTown will be featuring a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.

Amongst the LebTown staff, there are plenty of furry friends helping us to keep the news coming to our readers. To kick off our feature, we have selected none other than Doc, the 2 ½ year old Wire Fox Terrier who serves as the constant sidekick of LebTown publisher Davis Shaver.

Doc is named in honor of Shaver’s grandfather, Dr. Sam Lape, who had one of these spunky medium-sized dogs by his side for most of his later life.

Some of Doc’s favorite things to do include going for bike rides with Shaver (cozied up in a K9 Sport Sack), chasing squirrels, and assailing any nearby “squeaker” toys. His favorite snacks are bully sticks and peanut butter-stuffed Kongs.

To nominate your pet, email pets@lebtown.com and include:

  • Your name and your pet’s name
  • Pet’s breed if applicable
  • A little about your pet and why they should be “Pet of the Week”
  • And of course—pictures! Feel free to send attachments or a link to an online storage service.
